Procrastination

Its not so bad if you procrastinate on a project by painting right...

I got a bunch of photoshop brushes from a friend and I wanted to try 'em out.

this is a page from my summer sketchbook. Right now I'm working on a redesign of a forest illustration in the style of Mike Mignola. Pret-ttyy coool

Practice makes practice

A sassy lassy, done at my jorb, I work at an office on campus

Look at this blast from the past! My pal Amelia dug it up from the depths of the annals of time. Sowry for the poor quality photo, but now you know what I was doing in high school... y'know besides underage drinking and premarital sex. < (dear potential future employers, I am joking)

Too much meat and no potatoes

this is the beast of a project, my black and white rendering. It's getting there, I'm going to work on it more over break. People say grades aren't important, its what you learn. This is a concept that I am grappling with, that grade is still quite important to me.

You know what goes in my ear right now, in the midst of these beautiful spring days? Old timey raggae, in particular Desmond Dekker and Clancy Eccles. I recommend checkin' them out if you're so inclined.

Oh me, oh my

Putting together my portfolio now, both the color grid and b&w rendering are done! We're doing color comps over the break which just seems fun - "easy, breezy, beautiful - get it gurl"

Here is some more sketchbook work and a figure drawing that I've dug up from the depths of my art locker!

We're gomma neeb a bugger boat

there are times in class when I am simultaneously falling asleep and struggling to take notes. The result is pure comedy for a Future Bridget. But enough chatting, time to paint more of my color grid! Gotta power through! Warrior poet!

late nights with color grid

Instead of sleeping an hour ago, I ate curly fries and painted this. My model kept friggin' moving, so I had to make some stuff up - it shows.

Spring 2010

omg oh em gee, could it really be... that I've made another post?

Arts are in full swing here at San Jose State, I'm painting my patootie off every dang night. I'm learning a lot, both from class and just connecting the dots on why we did the things we did in foundations classes, you would think I'd have learned that during the classes...but alas it was not so.

I spent the last 8 hours painting swatches, and at the end I rewarded myself with a 20 minute painting study of a slumbering classmate on the table next to mine. It was a great way to apply everything I've learned, and experiment with color.

I imagine more of these will come, its great practice and a welcome break from endless color swatches

Enough talking!
